Do they have to be journalists to look into something that is affecting the trust of their viewers?
Just like Gamers Nexus explained in their video, you can not trust the coverage of whatever Nvidia is pushing this way. You furthermore can not know what they might be pushing elsewhere, so you have to mistrust all Nvidia coverage.
IMHO that sucks and if Gamers Nexus wants to investigate, why shouldn't they?
The same reason I’d be uninterested in reading that the Daily Mail wants to investigate something but interested if NYT wanted to.
I have faith in one to deliver useful investigations and not the other.
> After NVIDIA's huge breach of trust that we covered, we are officially opening an investigation and deep-dive into more of NVIDIA's shady business tactics
Is mostly waffling that could have applied to anything that nvidia did in the last 5 years
They are just a linus tech tips bootlicker who thinks that there exists some mystical high standard journalism. You could find plenty of shoddy work from sites they consider good.
GN has released a video talking about how NVIDIA attempted to get them to show their new cards in a certain way, showing Multi Frame Gen prominently on graphs and such. The issue is that NVIDIA threatened to cut off access to technical interviews with engineers if GN didn't make the reviews inthe way that NVIDIA wanted.
This means that now watching or reading any positive NVIDIA coverage is going to leave you wondering if NVIDIA threatened the creators in similar ways into giving them a favorable review.
TLDR: Nvidia stopped making GPUs faster at rendering graphics, all effort goes into AI. Nvidia wants reviewers to start lying to users by citing AI Multi Frame Gen FPS, new Nvidia Frame Gen hallucinates 3 frames every 1 real frame.
Clearly they are losing sleep if they have managers doing nothing but trying to manipulate reviews. Not to mention anything discovered will me used in antitrust cases around the world.
I thought they decided that they weren’t journalists in their spat with the other youtubers?

Has Gamer Nexus produced shoddy work in the past? The comparison feels lazy.
I’m more than happy to read a short sellers investigative piece, for example. You don’t need to be journalists to produce good work backed by facts.

They couldn't have done it 25 years ago?
What’s the context of this?

I mean, good on GN, but honestly I don't think Nvidia will loose any sleep over it!
